Dear AAPP users,
AAPP update 7.15 is available for you to download. We recommend that you use the “Software Downloads” section of the NWP SAF web site to get the new version. But it is also available on the old AAPP ftp server. As usual, you can either download the full release (excluding large data files which are available in the Supplementary Downloads section) or you can download an update package in order to update an existing installation.
The main changes are summarised on the release history page, and you can click on the 7.15 Release Note to see full details – including installation instructions.
Among other things, this update addresses a specific request of the DBNet coordination group – the inclusion of software version information in level 1c BUFR products. Therefore we recommend that DBNet stations install the update. The version information is inserted at the end of the standard BUFR message, so should not affect existing operational systems. Please let us know if you encounter problems.
Also, the MAIA4_test.tgz test case has been updated to be consistent with the latest version of MAIA4.
