Legend for rejection plots
- 1:Ob not processed at all:
- 2:No coeffs available for satellite:
- 3:Unusable scan position: Flags the last 2 scan positions
on each side of the swarth.
- 4:Raw BT outside acceptable limits: observed brightness
temperature must lie within 90 and 340K.
- 5:Bad predictors for extrapolation:
- 6:No channels for retrieval:
- 7:Background BT outside acceptable limits: Checks that
observed - background brightness temperature is < 20K.
- 8:Bad predictors for bias correction:
- 9:Background outside acceptable limits: observed brightness
temperature must lie within 90 and 340K.
- 10:Retrieval failed to converge: The iteration to solvethe
1DVAR cost function cannot be minimised in less than 7
iterations.
- 11:Surface elevation too high: altitude > 1000m, under
strict QC we do not use this data.
- 12:Retrieval BT outside acceptable limits: The observed
- retrieved brightness temperature difference was > than
4 times the combined observation forward model error.
- 13:Error in forward model: > RTTOV-5 has quality control
information which says when the calculation maybe unreliable.

- 15:ATOVPP scan flag:
- 16:ATOVPP preprocessor flag:
